The King Fahd Ship Repair Yard (KFSRY) at Dammam, operated by Dena-BMS Co Ltd is one of the leading ship repair facilities in the Gulf. Covering a total land area is 14.7 hectares it is capable of handling any type of vessel.
There are two Floating docks able to accommodate vessels of up to 45,000 dwt.
The yard’s expertise covers the whole spectrum of repair, maintenance and rebuilding. During the last 10-years, it has served the needs of world clients, including major shipping line, military and the onshore / offshore industry.
The skilled personnel of KFSRY are on call 24-hours to undertake repairs at berth, or alternatively, to minimise delays, our mobile teams are capable to carry out insitu repairs.
The yard has a full complement of technical facilities and workshops covering more than 50,000sq.m are able to provide every type of service for vessels under repair and rebuilding, Dena-BMS workshops have the most modern, electronically controlled and automated steel fabrication machinery to undertake rolling, bending, machining, mechanical, welding, painting, electric and electronic ensuring the highest quality professional standards.
The stringent requirements of the Dena-BMS Safety Manual cover every activity and procedure at KFSRY, guaranteed the highest standards. Workers undergo regular training in all aspects of safety, fire fighting, health, and regulations to ensure that they are fully aware of safe working practices.
Dena-BMS management has adopted a policy to emphasize its commitment to the safety of its workers and is covered by insurance up to SR. 30million. Since the company was established there have been some 103,000 working hours without a fatal accident.
KFSRY has completed contracts including damage repairs, general and periodic surveys, life extension, refurbishment and rebuilding for commercial, military vessels, including tankers, bulk, carriers general cargo, tugs, anchor handling boats, work boats, fishing and supply vessels. We also undertake design and building of new vessels such as pleasure and pilot boat, barges, tugs, supply vessels and navigation buoys.
Quality Control systems are in place, aimed at ensuring customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. The yard is strictly monitored through management review meetings, customer feedback, internal audits, quality awareness training for all employees and analysis of data derived form the continuous assessment of key processes. |
