Outreach & Support Services :
FAID’s Outreach and Support Services are available to deaf and hard of hearing children, youth and adults. FAID’s Outreach & Support Services provides assistance for teachers, employers, parents and families.
Services include audio logical assessments; cochlear implant therapy; hearing aid evaluations, fitting and repair; as well as educational and psychological evaluations.
Our team of professionals focuses on providing a strong foundation for the educational, social, and emotional growth of deaf and hard-of-hearing children from birth to age 21.
Our work has expended during the past year, more parents and children are having served. Skilled teachers are on the staff and FAID is daily visited by young and old from all over the country.
Speech/audiology services are provided to all students. Speech sessions are to facilitate student growth in auditory receptive skills, speech reading, speech production and expressive/receptive language. In addition, sessions are to provide students with a variety of communication strategies to enable each student to interact effectively.
1. To help to hear Program:
By this program, we provide our deaf children as well as needy elderly poor people with free recycled hearing aids donated by friends of FAID.
2. Deaf Club Services:
We have a deaf society founded 50 years ago, with about 600 members. During the year, the Club organizes many gatherings in several religious occasions (Christmas, Palm Sunday, Ramadan). We distribute parcels of food amongst the needy deaf members of the Club, who are enable to support the basic needs of their families due to the economic situation of the country.
3. Parents counseling:
FAID Provides families with the resources and guidance needed to create an environment in which children from birth to age three can reach their full potential. Services include language and communication development, speech and auditory training, audiological support, and support groups for families.
FAID provides consultation services to parents, teachers and schools with regard to educational program planning and modification to promote student learning and success. FAID organizes training seminars for parents, teachers and other professionals on issues related to child development and learning. Services include lectures and on-site observations.
4. Others services provided to the community include:
Ear mould laboratory, audiology services (audiogram, tympnanomery, VRA ,VERA, ear wash and fitting of hearing aids) speech therapy, cochlear implant habilitation, out-patient program for poor people and a club for the deaf. |
