This program was established in 1960 to ensure a supply of well educated teachers of deaf. The program provides training for teachers and parents of deaf children. Programs can be designed to meet individual needs and interests and are open to deaf, hard of hearing and hearing trainees. The program offers trainees a host of unique and valuable experiences in dealing with deaf children.
The TTP’s teacher education staff and its resources provide trainees with opportunities to develop breadth and depth of knowledge, expertise, and diversity of perspectives in the field of education of deaf and hard of hearing people.
Most staff members in the FAID have teaching experience with deaf and hard of hearing children and young people and expertise in specific areas related to the field.
Scores of teachers were trained particularly through the Teacher Training Program. Most of the trainees are enrolled at FAID and other schools for the deaf in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Switzerland and France.
